The job:
We are growing and expanding our reach (geographically, market sector, and in our product range), and are seeking a Head of Product to provide senior leadership to our Product Management function and to shape the strategic direction of our software platforms.
Operating within a value stream model, Procentia’s product areas are owned by multidisciplinary squads that bring together Product, Engineering, QA, and Design. The Head of Product is accountable for ensuring these squads are aligned to a coherent product strategy, commercially focused, and delivering outcomes that work for both our clients and the business.
This role connects commercial strategy and delivery execution. You will act as the senior bridge between Sales, Marketing and Finance on one side, and Engineering and Delivery on the other, ensuring that what we sell, build and operate is aligned, sustainable, and differentiated in the market.
Here's what you'll be doing:
Professional Leadership: Provide day‑to‑day leadership, coaching and mentorship to Product Managers, supporting their development and ensuring consistently high standards of product thinking and execution.
Practice Ownership: Define, embed and uphold best practice for Product Management across Procentia, including discovery, prioritisation, roadmap development, value measurement and stakeholder engagement.
You will be responsible for making sure our product briefs contain well-articulated business cases that describe how the proposition can be met by a product build that meet a return on investment.
Value Proposition Ownership: Ensure Procentia’s products address real, high‑value problems for pension schemes, insurers, and administrators, balancing regulatory necessity with competitive differentiation
Strategic Coherence: Ensure individual squad roadmaps align to a clear, overarching product strategy, avoiding siloed or locally‑optimised decision making.
Partner to Delivery: Work in close partnership with Engineering and Delivery leadership to ensure squads have clarity of intent, well‑framed problems, and appropriate trade‑off decisions
Key skills and experience:
Product Leadership: Significant experience leading and developing Product Managers in a software environment, with demonstrable success in raising capability and standards.
Commercial Acumen: Strong understanding of the commercial dynamics of software businesses, with experience linking product decisions to revenue growth, cost control or strategic advantage.
Regulated / Vertical Market Experience: Background in pensions administration, financial services, fintech, or another complex regulated vertical is essential.
Delivery Track Record: Proven experience taking complex software products from concept through to stable, live operation in a regulated environment.
Lets talk about what's in it for you...
· 25 days holiday (plus public holidays) increasing with length of service up to a maximum of 28 days, with carry over of up to 1 week
· Buying and Selling holiday (up to 1 week)
· Volunteer day
· 5% Employer contribution pension
